Sonoluminescence
This demo will show how sound/pressure waves cause a bubble in a viscous fluid to collapse on its own and give out bright flashes of light. In the process the bubble interior can get very hot: over 10,000 K. Another demo we are working on will again use sound to produce light. Here the sound waves will hit a detector, which will power a series of LED lights, producing light. This is an exercise in wireless power transmission.
