Giant Magellan Telescope Consortium, Texas A&M Receive Times Recognition
The New York Times published an article on August 30 about the Giant Magellan Telescope Consortium and its ambitions to construct the largest telescope ever. Thanks to a $1.75 million gift to Texas A&M from George P. Mitchell ’40, Texas A&M is one of eight institutions funding the telescope, which will be the largest and most powerful on Earth and in space.
