Relativistic particle collisions have come a long way during the past two decades with the discovery of the Higgs Boson and the earliest state of matter in the evolution of the universe, the so-called Quark Gluon Plasma. I will try to show how these discoveries lead to significant multi-disciplinary efforts to understand the creation and evolution of matter under extreme conditions. Examples that will be highlighted are the connection of fundamental quantum theories to collective phenomena, the connection between quantum computing and states of matter generated in relativistic collisions, and astrophysical measurements that link to interactions observed at RHIC and LHC.
