In this talk, I will discuss holographic renormalization group (RG) flows beyond their infrared (IR) fixed points. Such “trans-IR” flows are a possible holographic framework for describing physics behind the horizon. I will present a holographic a-function that is stationary at the boundary and the horizon and is monotonic in both the exterior and the interior of the black hole and show that a monotonic a-function can also be constructed for anisotropic black holes.
