In this talk I will briefly review main challenges and results in higher spin theories. I will start from free fields and then discuss various approaches to construct interactions. I will highlight peculiarities inherent to higher spin theories and difficulties associated with higher spin interactions. Finally, I will briefly review some partially successful solutions to the higher spin interaction problem.
