The LHC experiments have produced an enormous number of ground-breaking results with the data taken with the maiden run of the CERN LHC accelerator as it collided protons at energies of 7 and 8 TeV. The accelerator has now begun operation at 13 TeV and will eventually reach its design energy of 14 TeV in coming years. It is anticipated that the amount of data produced in the next decade will be 10 times that already accumulated, and will grow another order of magnitude in the decade beyond this one. The speaker will give a select overview of important LHC results so far from the CMS and ATLAS experiments and then discuss the plans and potential of the LHC program in the near future and beyond.
