Efficient methods of calculation of general conformal blocks are essential for the development of numerical and analytical conformal bootstrap methods. In this talk, I will discuss various approaches in dimensions greater than 2, in the light of their bootstrap applications, focusing mostly on weight-shifting operators and Zamolodchikov recursion relations. I will also describe an ongoing effort of building an efficient numerical algorithm for computation of general conformal blocks in 3 dimensions.
