Event Details

Following up on earlier work in 10D I will show, motivated by string theory considerations, that there exists a consistent limit of 11D supergravity describing 11D    Newtonian supergravity. An important ingredient of the construction is a proper definition of non-Lorentzian geometry whose basic properties I will review. I will discuss the implications of our result and its connection with non-relativistic string theory.
