Mary Anne Limbach

(she / her / hers)

Mary Anne Limbach is a graduate student at Texas A&M University. Her research focuses on exoplanet and exomoon detection and characterization.

She is lead scientist and optical engineer for the Exoplanet Transmission spectroscopy Instrument (ETSI) instrument being built at TAMU. ETSI will survey transit spectra of gas giant exoplanets on a small (2 m), ground-based telescope. She developed and uses several novel techniques for exomoon detection including the observation of exomoons transiting isolated planetary-mass objects and direct imaging of tidally heated exomoons. Mary Anne is part of the Gemini Planet Imager (GPI) consortium and she is the optical design engineer for the upgrades to the integral field spectrograph (IFS).
