Stephen Fulling A

Biography

Best known for: Helping to found the subject of quantum field theory in curved space-time in the 1970s. Dr. Fulling has studied heat-kernel expansions, semiclassical approximations, pseudodifferential operators, and applications of group theory and graph theory to enumerate the independent terms in asymptotic series. His recent focus has been on quantum vacuum energy, in quantum graphs, cosmological models, and near reflecting and partially reflecting boundaries. Currently, in collaboration with colleagues at IQSE and elsewhere, he is elucidating the appearance and reality of radiation as it depends upon the acceleration of the detector.
