Event Details

The alignment of the pixel tracker of CMS and the measurement of the tW channel of single top quark production are presented. In the tW-channel a top quark is produced in association with a W boson. The measurement is performed in the dilepton final state using data collected at a center of mass energy of 8 TeV. The experimental signature is very similar to top pair production, and a multivariate analysis is used to extract the signal and measure the cross section and significance. Additionally, the implementation of a run-by-run alignment of the CMS pixel detector to monitor and correct for movements is discussed.
