Event Details

Through AdS/CFT correspondence, we can explore the mysteries of quantum gravity with well defined field theoretic tools. This is especially true for 3d AdS gravity and 2d CFT, which are arguably the simplest system that still displays the rich phenomena of blackhole physics. I will start by reviewing the connection between blackhole thermality and semiclassical Virasoro blocks. Then I will show signature of the blackhole’s information loss as un-physical properties of the semiclassical block, as well as possible mechanisms that restore information nonperturbatively at the quantum level. In the end I will present an independent check of the AdS3/CFT2 correspondence.
