Dark Matter Searches by Looking at the Sun and AGN

Speaker:

Yu Gao (Texas A&M University)

Location:

Address:

Mitchell Institute for Fundamental Physics & Astronomy

College Station, Texas 77843

Event Details

The talk will briefly discuss Dr. Gao’s interest in current topics of indirect searches of dark matter, with focuses on my recent work in (i) a channel-wise study of constraining dark matter with high energy neutrinos from potential annihilations in the Sun, in a particular case that a vector boson radiation lifts the helicity suppression on the annihilation of a Majorana fermionic dark matter; (ii) gamma ray signals from dark matter scattering off protons inside Actic Galactic Nuclei’s (AGN) jets, where the high energy of the jet protons open up resonant processes out of the reach of terrestrial direct detection experiments.
