The National Science Foundation invests millions of dollars in outreach programs to identify and develop the next generation of Physics scholars and scientists. Physics faculty members play a critical role in helping students learn and appreciate Physics through instruction, research opportunities, and mentoring. This research talk utilizes empirical evidence to help faculty members create student centered learning experiences that help identify and encourage the next generation of physicists.
