3D Supergravity from Wrapped Branes

Speaker:

Eoin Colgain (SUNY & Stony Brook)

Location:

Address:

Mitchell Institute for Fundamental Physics & Astronomy

Event Details

We have complete classifications of 3D supergravity. In this talk Dr. Colgain will identify 3D supergravities with an embedding in type II and 11D supergravity. The supersymmetric AdS3 vacua of these theories are dual to twisted compactifications of maximally supersymmetric D3 and M5-brane theories, and as a result, reproduce the correct central charge and R symmetry in the large N-limit at the two-derivatie level. In addition, for a sample theory, he will present a complete classification of supersymmetric solutions with new timelike-warped AdS3 vacua.
