Lei Zheng

Graduate Student

Hi I am Lei Zheng. I am a graduate student at the Department of Physics and Astronomy, Texas A&M University, and a research assistant in Dr. Toback’s group. I received my B.S. and M.S. in physics in 2012 and 2015 from Beihang University (BUAA), where and when I studied nuclear physics, including applied nuclear physics and experimental low-energy nuclear physics. In 2016, I was accepted as a PhD graduate student to continue my physics journey at Texas A&M. During the first year, I worked with Prof. Gagliardi to investigate the proton’s spin a bit by analyzing some STAR data. In 2017 Summer, I transferred my research interest to dark matter and joined Prof. Toback’s group and SuperCDMS project to search for the unknown particle properties of Dark Matter. Currently I am working on CDMSLite analysis with simulation and real data, and DCRC(Detector Control and Readout Card) Testing and Calibration. From 2018 to 2020, I had a chance to work with Dr. Rogachev’s group to analyze the data of 8Be abnormal decay experiment which is a new way to touch the Dark Matter mystery.
