Obtaining a Dynamic IP number using DHCP (only for ENPH building)
In order to obtain an IP number using the departmental DHCP server, you must first register the MAC address of your computer's ethernet card (see the section below for wireless connections). Note that the MAC address is also know as the "physical address". This address is a set of six hexadecimal numbers, seperated by either a dash or colon (eg. "00-11-aa-bb-cc-99" or "00:11:aa:bb:cc:99").

Once you have the MAC address, email it to physupport@physics.tamu.edu. Please include the room number where the computer will be located, and a BRIEF description of the computer (eg. "Dell Inspiron 4100").

Obtaining a Wireless Connection
The wireless network (called "Tamulink-wpa") is maintained by CIS' networking group. In order to use tamulink-wpa, you need to have a working "NetID" account with CIS. The step-by-step instructions for setting up the wireless connection using tamulink-wpa are found at https://hdc.tamu.edu/reference/documentation/?section_id=727

Note that guests and visitors wishing to use the wireless network need to have a guest account created at least 24 hours in advance (through CIS's Account Services (http://cis.tamu.edu/customer-sales/account-services/) at 845-7223. Instructions for connecting to the Tamulink-guest account will be created by CIS "soon".
